The Government proposes to amend the United Nations (Anti-Terrorism Measures) Ordinance (Cap. 575), having regard to the requirements in the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2178 and recommendations by the Financial Action Task Force, an intergovernmental organization specializing in recommending standards and best practices in countering money laundering and terrorist financing. The Government conducted a public consultation from 4 January to 3 March 2017, and would like to thank all individuals and parties who have made submissions on the proposals.
